Door Reinforcement or Full Armoured Door?

80% of Paris break-ins go through the front door. If yours is a classic wooden apartment door, you have two upgrade paths: reinforce it, or replace it entirely with a certified armoured block. Here's how to choose.

Option 1 — Reinforcement (“blindage”)

Your existing door stays. We dress it with a steel sheet on the inside face, reinforce the hinge side with anti-pinch pins, fit a steel strike frame, and install a high-security 3- or 5-point lock. From about €990 installed.

• ✔ Keeps the door's original look on the landing — usually no copropriété approval needed
• ✔ Roughly half the price of a full armoured block
• ✔ Big real-world security gain for standard burglary attempts
• ✘ No official A2P BP certification (the certification applies to complete door blocks)
• ✘ Adds weight to hinges; not ideal if the door or frame is already tired

Option 2 — Certified armoured door block (“bloc-porte blindé”)

Door and frame are replaced together by a factory-built steel block, certified A2P BP1 to BP3, fitted to measure. From about €1,890. You gain certified burglary resistance, plus serious sound and thermal insulation — noticeable in a Paris building.

• ✔ Acoustic comfort: corridors and stairwells go quiet
• ✘ Higher budget; the landing face must match the building's style (we handle the finish and the syndic paperwork)

The copropriété question

In a French co-owned building, the landing side of your door is part of the building's “harmonie”. Reinforcement rarely raises questions since the outside doesn't change. For an armoured block, the outer finish simply needs to match the existing doors — we photograph the landing, match the style, and prepare the courtesy notice for the syndic when needed.
